Registered participants of our California Naturalist course are invited to join an Urban Ecology-themed Field Trip to the Los Angeles River. The trip will begin and end at Lewis MacAdams Waterfront Park.

About the Event
Our Urban Ecology Field Trip will take place along the Glendale Narrows portion of the Los Angeles River. We will begin and end the trip at Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park and will be joined by guest speakers Kat Superfisky, Urban Ecologist, Greer Darden, CNC, and Josh Andujo, Natives for Nature.

Schedule for the Day:
9:00-9:30 Introduction in the Pavillion at Lewis MacAdams Waterfront Park
9:30-11:30 Urban Ecology River Tour with Urban Ecologist Kat Superfisky (An approximate 3 mile stroll along the river on paved path)
11:30-12:00 Herping 101 with Greer Darden, CNC
12:00-12:30 Tongva Relationship to Nature with Josh Andujo, Natives for Nature
12:30-1:00 Closing
WAIVERS: The emailed program waiver and emergency medical release forms are required to be submitted in advance in order to participate the field trips.
COVID POLICY: Masks are required at all times while indoors or on the bus. Masks are encouraged at all times during the program.
What to bring: plenty of water, snacks, your journal, a pen, your phone with the inaturalist app.
What to wear: comfortable shoes for walking, dress in layers, sunprotection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, long sleeves, long pants).
